DMRC Notices Delhi Forest Department For Violating Green Rules

New Delhi, 25 August (Language) The Delhi Forest Department has issued a notice to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for allegedly violating the guidelines that were found on the recognized forest land during the construction of the Janakpuri West-RK Ashram Marg corridor. 


Do not allow construction. There has been no immediate response from DMRC. According to the Deputy Conservator of Forests (West Division), DMRC was ordered to stop work between Vikaspuri and Piragadhi Chowk on Road No. 26, 5.34 km long area and 1300 square meter area on Najafgarh drain.

New Delhi, 25 August (Language) The Delhi Forest Department has issued a notice to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for allegedly violating the guidelines that were found on the recognized forest land during the construction of the Janakpuri West-RK Ashram Marg corridor. 

Do not allow construction. There has been no immediate response from DMRC. According to the Deputy Conservator of Forests (West Division), DMRC was ordered to stop work between Vikaspuri and Piragadhi Chowk on Road No. 26, 5.34 km long area and 1300 square meter area on Najafgarh drain which are valid forest areas. 

According to the Forest Department, from February to August, DMRC was sent several notices to "do no construction work" on the respective sections but it did not follow the instructions and refused to stop the work on Road No. 26, thus making it prima facie Violated the Forest Conservation Act, 1980. 

The department has sent a violation report in this regard to the Union Ministry of Environment, Forests. In addition, the department has also filed complaints in Vikaspuri and Mianwali police stations.
