Patna, Bihar;
All
the major political parties have started electoral multiplication for the Bihar
assembly elections. Talk about the main opposition party RJD, Muslim-Yadav
factor has been playing an important role in the party's victory for the last
30 years. There are 17 percent Muslim and 14 percent Yadav voters in the
state, who contribute significantly in the elections. If the Lalu Yadav's party
took power in Bihar till 2015, the main reason was the Muslim-Yadav factor
being associated with the party prominently. In later days also, this factor
was strongly associated with RJD. However, JDU is now eyeing this vote bank of
RJD. Nitish Kumar's party has prepared a strategic plan regarding this.
Nitish's party gives a big blow to RJD
RJD
chief Lalu Prasad Yadav is serving sentence in the fodder scam case. Burglary
preparations have begun in RJD's vote-bank in the absence of RJD chief. The
Muslim and Yadav i.e. MY community is generally considered to be the vote bank
of the RJD. In such a situation, JDU is trying to make a dent in the RJD's
vote-bank. In the last three months, seven Muslim and Yadav leaders have split
from the RJD and joined the JDU. Many of these leaders are also current MLAs of
RJD and they are considered to have a good hold in their own areas.
Lalu Yadav's Samadhi Chandrika Rai in JDU
Recently,
the three MLAs who left the RJD and joined the JDU include Chandrika Rai,
Samadhi of Lalu Prasad Yadav. Apart from these, Faraj Fatmi and RJD MLA
Jayawardhan Yadav from Paliganj joined the JDU. Janardhana Yadav, who was RJD
MLA is the grandson of the late Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav, who was among the
veteran leaders of the state. This family has a good hold over its community in
many areas of Central Bihar. Faraj Fatmi is the son of former RJD leader Ali
Ashraf Fatmi. The departure of these three leaders to the JDU is considered a
major setback for the RJD.
Burglary in RJD's Muslim-Yadav Equation
Earlier,
RJD leader Vijender Yadav broke away from the party and took entry in JDU.
Vijendra has been a former MLA from Sandesh. JDU plans to field Vijender Yadav
as an RJD candidate. If this happens, RJD's difficulties may increase slightly.
Talking to ET, JDU spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan said that the results of 2019
Lok Sabha elections clearly show that the Muslim-Yadav equation is breaking
with the RJD. The party could not perform well even in areas where this factor
is important. He also said that not only Muslim-Yadav but all community leaders
are joining JDU.
Will RJD harm Lalu's absence?
On the other hand, Chandrika Rai, who broke away from RJD to JDU, said that Nitish Kumar's social engineering is stronger than RJD. At present, in the absence of Lalu Prasad Yadav, his son Tejashwi Yadav may have been planning an important strategy and taking command of RJD in his hands, but the question arises whether he is failing to keep the party united. Because within a week, six of his MLAs have left the party and joined the JDU. On the other hand, the Mahagathbandhan constituents are also not ready to accept Tejashwi's leadership.
