Anderson
touched 600 600 wickets in his 156th Test match. He became the first fast
bowler in the world to reach here. The last match of the series played at
Southampton was drawn due to rain and England won the three-match series 1-0.
The
38-year-old Anderson ranks fourth in the list of bowlers who have taken the
most wickets in Test cricket. Muttiah Muralitharan (800), Shane Warne (708) and
Anil Kumble (619) lead him.

McGrath
told the BBC, "They have set the same criteria as Sachin did."
Significantly,
McGrath's name was recorded before Anderson as the record for taking the most
wickets among the fast bowlers. He took 563 wickets in Tests.
He
said, 'Nobody is going to break the number of runs (15921) or the number of matches
played (200) in Test cricket. Anderson has done the same for fast bowling.
McGrath,
considered one of the finest fast bowlers in the world, said, "I didn't
have the skills that Jimmy has." When he swings the ball with control on
both sides, there is no one better than him.
Former
England captain Michael Vaughan said he was witnessing real greatness on the
cricket field.
He
said, 'It would be a lie if I said that I thought Anderson was such a bowler
who would take so many wickets. We thought we had a bowler who had skill.
He
said, "I never even dreamed that after 17 years we would be talking about
Anderson taking 600 Test wickets."
Stuart Broad said, 'Anderson is a role model for every English cricketer. He is always trying to perform better and even 600 wickets will not stop him.
