Corona Vaccine News: COVID-19 Vaccine Update
Corona Vaccine News: Government wants to order the first order of 50 lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccine
Corona Vaccine India, corona vaccine kab aayegi: Even though the Corona vaccine is not ready in the country yet, the government has started further preparations. At the beginning, who is going to get the vaccine, price, etc. are in talks with the companies. Meanwhile, information has emerged regarding the first batch.

The Indian
government is initially contemplating buying about 5 million doses of the
Corona vaccine against Corona for advance personnel, army personnel, and certain
categories of people. After the approval of the vaccine, there is a churn in
the government regarding the priorities of making it available. The focus is on
supply chain and distribution. A framework is being created to provide the
vaccine to the employees on the front and those at the highest risk.
The Government wants to distribute the vaccine on a large scale so that it can
reach the larger population at the earliest. Official sources said that the
local vaccine manufacturers have asked the government to give estimates of a
certain market as a shot will be ready within a few weeks once the vaccine is
made. Companies have been assured of vaccine demand. It is believed that a
vaccine may be ready later this year or early next year.
During a
meeting with major vaccine manufacturers on Monday, an expert group on the
Kovid vaccine has asked companies to make their proposals, asking for
production capacity information, pricing, and suggestions on how the government
can support them. The group is also headed by NITI Aayog member VK Paul and
Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan.

A senior executive of a local vaccine manufacturer said, "We have to invest heavily in the development of the vaccine and we have to put our capacity to increase production of the Kovid-19 vaccine." In such a situation, the government must give a hint about a certain market.
The official said that the expert group is considering various options including
financial assistance for the production of the vaccine if necessary. However,
the discussion is still in the initial stage and before reaching a plan, the
committee may hold a few more meetings.
Suggestions
have been sought from the Standing Technical Sub-Committee of the National
Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (stage), the top advisory body on
vaccine, regarding the selection of vaccine candidates.
At present,
a human trial of three vaccines is going on in India. Bharat Biotech-ICMR's
Covaxin and Zydus Cadila's ZyCov-D are currently in Phase 1/2 trials. Apart
from this, Serum Institute of India (SII) has also done a trial of
AstraZeneca for the AZD1222 vaccine. The vaccine candidates the government panel is
looking at include Oxford-AstraZeneca and Moderna in Phase 3 trials.
Apart from
this, the government is also considering nine more vaccine programs including
Germany and Israel. On Monday, when the National Expert Group on Vaccine The administration met, it included heads of several pharma companies besides SII,
Bharat Biotech and Zydus Cadila.
